Hi Shannon,
I like to do exercice so I go to the gym every morning and I do one hour of eliptics (I don't know if it is the right word). I really like the gym of the university. It is huge and there are a lot of things you can do there, besides, there is a lot of organisation as in all the university, I love that. It's amazing to do exercice while you watch TV. It helps me to practice my listening.
After the workshops I like to go to the tennis courts because I love tennis. I'd like to have more time to practice tennis (here and in Toluca). Besides the time, you need another person to play tennis and sometimes it is very difficult to find someone who wants to play with you.
Here in Denton I wanted to play tennis after dinner but it was impossible because of the weather (it's too hot and sometimes it's raining), so I have to wait until 8 o'clock and by nine you can see nothing anymore.

Pambazos
Hi Shannon
Pambazos is a kind of sandwich (mexican torta) and it is made with bread generally filled with potatos and chorizo, but you can fill them with green or red mole too. Once they are filled with that, you put them into a sauce and you fry them. It's a very popular mexican food. You must taste it when you go to Mexico. By the way, aren't you going to the UAEM as other teachers? I'd like to see you there.

Three cups of tea
Since I am in UNT I go to the gym every afternoon, but yesterday as it was raining I decided to stay in my room and finish the novel I was reading. The title of the novel is Three Cups of Tea, and it's about an American who lives in Montana most of the time, but he spends some months of the year in Pakistan for building schools. Many years ago he was an alpinist. He tried to climb on the K2 (a mountain of The Himalaya, in Pakistan). When he was there, he got lost and when he was found he arrived to a very poor town. There he saw children didn't have a school to go to. They took classes outdoors and they wrote on the sand. They had no books, no notebooks. Then, he decided to build a school for them. He promised the old man of the town that he would return and build a school. He had no idea of what he could do to get the money to the school. He came back to the States and wrote to many important people to get money but nobody answered him. I'm not gonna tell you all the story but he could build many schools, especially for girls in Pakistan and he began to build schools in Afganistan too. He had to struggle through a number of challenges because it was the war in Afganistan (2005). He was a candidate for the Nobel Prize in 2009.

My first day in UNT
Hi,
My first day in UNT was very exciting but very hot too! As it was the 3th of july we went to see the fireworks. It was an interesting experience because the way the Americans celebrates the independence day is very different of what we do in Mexico. In Mexico the governor of the State of Mexico gives "El grito de la Independencia", it means "Viva Mexico, Viva Hidalgo etc". Then we have the fireworks and finally there is a party for the people in the governement building but there is not actually a party for all the people because you have to be invited. For the rest of the people, there are many places to eat on the street. You can eat tacos, pambazos, tostadas, all kind of mexican food and you can buy mexican flags, whistles, sprays with foam. I don't like this kind of celabration because it's noisy and not very sure because you can find all kind of people who use this date to get drunk and do things they are not allowed to do every day. I prefer the way Americans celebrate this date because even it's not very funny it's more respectfully.
