My first day in UNT

Hi,

My first day in UNT was very exciting but very hot too! As it was the 3th of july we went to see the fireworks. It was an interesting experience because the way the Americans celebrates the independence day is very different of what we do in Mexico. In Mexico the governor of the State of Mexico gives "El grito de la Independencia", it means "Viva Mexico, Viva Hidalgo etc". Then we have the fireworks and finally there is a party for the people in the governement building but there is not actually a party for all the people because you have to be invited. For the rest of the people, there are many places to eat on the street. You can eat tacos, pambazos, tostadas, all kind of mexican food and you can buy mexican flags, whistles, sprays with foam. I don't like this kind of celabration because it's noisy and not very sure because you can find all kind of people who use this date to get drunk and do things they are not allowed to do every day. I prefer the way Americans celebrate this date because even it's not very funny it's more respectfully.

  1. Thank you for your post. What are pambazos? I learned a bit about how our two countries celebrate differently.
